With their oldest child starting school in the fall, David Varner and his wife, Karina, decided it was time to make their move. On the wish list: a backyard patio for him and granite countertops for her.

The Varner family fell in love with the Dorado floor plan at Rancho Sahuarita, featuring a kitchen that overlooked the great room. “We wanted an open floor plan so we could interact with the kids while cooking dinner,” David explained.

The couple had built a home from the ground up before and was pleased at how quickly the process went this time around. Their Sales Associate, Jean, was great at keeping them apprised of the progress of their home from start to finish.

The Varners were surprised by the number of ways to personalize their home at the Home Gallery, as well as the quality of the standard features. And because of a special offer that was running at the time, they were able to afford more upgrades.

“Karina had a bigger wish list than I did,” David remembered, “She wanted granite countertops, cherry cabinets and 18" tile. She loved the idea of all the choices.”

Before David and Karina ever went home shopping, they spoke with friends who were Richmond American homeowners and were encouraged by all the positive feedback. “We went in confident and we were not disappointed!” David exclaimed.

After renting for about 4 years, Margie Hernandez and her family were ready to start house hunting. At the beginning, they mainly looked at foreclosures, but they weren't in the best shape.

With the family's tastes in mind, Stacy created a design plan. "She coordinated our home finishes and laid it all out for us." Margie explained, "We made a few changes here and there, but she was right on it."

Throughout the construction phase, their Sales Associate, Athena, kept the family updated. And Erin from Richmond American's affiliate, HomeAmerican Mortgage, made sure their financing was on track for closing.

Margie says she will definitely recommend Richmond American to her friends and family. "I've already given my nephew floor plans and an info packet!" she exclaimed.

The Gregoriches were looking for a new home for their blended family. After an exhaustive search of the area, they chose the Marlow Duet plan at Northampton at Kingstowne. The design's open, airy spaces appealed to the couple, as did Richmond American's craftsmanship.

"What really impressed me was the amount of detail that came standard in our home,” said Dino. "Things that would be upgrades from any other builder were already included – crown molding, a fireplace in the bedroom and a bathroom that was larger than my child's first bedroom. It already had a lot of style before we started personalizing."

Nina at the Home Gallery helped Dino and Beth choose their design options. She asked a lot of questions about us, our lifestyle and our personal tastes," Beth remembered. "Nina was very knowledgeable and provided good guidance. She was always adaptable to change if there was something we wanted to revisit. I didn' expect to have so much fun."

Dino and Beth had a great experience with all their Richmond American team, from their Sales Associate to their Construction Superintendent. "Everyone was so responsive to questions," said Dino. "I never had to wait any time for a phone or email reply. It was obvious they cared about our concerns."

Beth agreed. "Everything was seamless. There were no bumps in the road, no surprises. Everyone was friendly and kept us in the loop. We had a great dialogue throughout the whole experience."
