Her VP of Operations has been with the company for\nover 20 years. Likewise, her VP of Sales joined her team 15 years ago. Nicole\nherself had careers with two other builders before making her home at Richmond\nAmerican at the turn of the century. Today, she\u2019s Division President of Richmond\nAmerican Homes of Nevada, Inc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back when the company began to grow in the 70s and 80s, building up the greater community was always top of mind for founder <a href=\"https:\/\/ir.richmondamerican.com\/Governance\/Team\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Larry Mizel<\/a> and COO <a href=\"https:\/\/ir.richmondamerican.com\/Governance\/Team\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">David Mandarich<\/a>. Nicole is happy to carry that torch into the future. She credits the low turnover rates on her team and the impressive longevity of leadership to the culture. Respecting employees and their lives goes a long way. And creating an environment where employees can flourish is a big part of the company\u2019s long-term goal to foster vibrant, thriving communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re a family,\u201d Nicole says. \u201cMy team works hard and doesn\u2019t want to let us down.\u201d To prove this commitment to the employee growth, Nicole hires from within whenever possible. In fact, most of her management team began as frontline employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The effort to build up community doesn\u2019t stop with employee\nadvocacy. It also filters down to the methodology behind designing Richmond\nAmerican\u2019s neighborhoods\u2014evidenced by the company\u2019s focus on selling to the\nhomeowners who plan to live there, not landlords. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re building neighborhoods. We want people. It\u2019s not\nabout churning out product to rent and flip,\u201d Nicole says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Nicole, neighborhood planning is also key. The\ncompany isn\u2019t out to create a concrete jungle. That means designing\nneighborhoods with plenty of open space, parks, playgrounds, dog parks and\ntrails, as well as working with developers that share the same mindset. It\u2019s a\nproject that\u2019s personal to her. After all, she lives in a Richmond American\nneighborhood herself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nicole wants to encourage more women to pursue a career in homebuilding. She serves as Co-Chair for the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/snhba.com\/professional-women-in-building-council\/\" target=\"_blank\">Southern Nevada Professional Women in Building Council<\/a> and was named 2019 Builder Member of the Year and received the 2018 Leadership Award through the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/snhba.com\" target=\"_blank\">Southern Nevada Home Builders Association<\/a>.
