He started his homebuilding career as a superintendent for Richmond American Homes of Nevada, Inc. and has been on a solid trajectory within the industry ever since. Today, he oversees the operations of Richmond American Homes companies in Arizona, Utah and Northern California as Regional President. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dave\u2019s leadership style mirrors what he appreciates about\nRichmond American: a culture that stays true to the company roots, yet\nadaptable to the changing market. \u201cRichmond American companies are very\ndisciplined. We understand who we are and what we do well. We\u2019re focused and\ndon\u2019t get distracted by a bunch of sideshows and wild goose chases,\u201d Dave says.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While other builders may lose focus in the pursuit of\ntrends, his teams play by the numbers. \u201cDetails are important,\u201d he adds. \u201cThe\nbuyers in Florida aren\u2019t the same as the ones in California. When you\u2019re not\nwell researched, you start following trends and become reactionary.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A focused attention on core competencies doesn\u2019t mean new initiatives aren\u2019t in the cards for Richmond American. According to Dave, this simplicity is what fosters growth and innovation and allows teams to build on past success. A perfect example is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.richmondamerican.com\/campaigns\/364\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Seasons\u2122 Collection<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe developed this collection to address affordability in the market, but we took a different approach,\u201d Dave says. \u201cThis isn\u2019t the starter home of yesteryear. We\u2019re providing a home in a great location and amazing features such as nine-foot ceilings, eight-foot interior doors, full islands and sliding glass patio doors, allowing buyers to stay in the home longer and not sacrifice amenities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This disciplined approach isn\u2019t the only thing that breeds success at Richmond American. <a href=\"https:\/\/ir.richmondamerican.com\/Governance\/Team\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Larry Mizel and David Mandarich<\/a>, CEO and COO of parent company M.D.C.
