If you\u2019re already feeling overwhelmed by your 2020\nresolutions, don\u2019t resign yourself to an early defeat\u2014try habit tracking, a popular\nmethod for achieving your goals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is habit tracking?<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Habit tracking is the process of logging the small steps you take each day that bring you closer to realizing your big goals. These bite-size, achievable actions add up over time, and are a powerful tool when pursuing big-picture New Year\u2019s resolutions. For instance, if your overarching goal is save for a new home, some daily habits to track might be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Skip the local coffee shop<\/li><li>Pack lunch (instead of eating out)<\/li><li>Carpool (to save on gas)<\/li><li>Wait 24 hours after finding an online\nitem to purchase it (chances are you\u2019ll forget about it by the next night!)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Essentially,\nit\u2019s a to-do list of habits that will, in time, lead you to success with your\nresolutions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why\nhabit tracking works<\/strong>\n<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Habit\ntracking can make you more likely to achieve your New Year\u2019s resolutions\nbecause it focuses on your daily actions rather than long-term success, giving\nyou an ongoing sense of achievement and helping you build momentum. Repeating your\nhealthy habits on a daily basis can also make them feel more like second nature\nrather than a chore.
