Planning a Noon Year’s Eve Party for Kids

Does your son or daughter insist on ringing in the new year, but lack the stamina to stay up until the ball drops? Not to worry! Following are some “Noon Year’s Eve” necessities to help your kiddo get a jump start on the year ahead (the celebration begins at 10 a.m., sharp, on December 31!) and party with pals like it’s 2019:

  • Festive décor.
Set the stage for celebration with colorful accessories, like streamers, hats and noisemakers. Also, follow these simple steps to welcome the “noon year” with an exciting balloon drop when the clock strikes 12 (p.m., that is!). For extra impact, fill each balloon with a handful of colorful confetti.
  • Photo props.
Hang fabric (or even wrapping paper!) on a wall to create a festive backdrop and let the kiddos showcase their creativity with New Year’s Eve-themed photo props. After all, it’s not a party without photographic evidence!
  • Fun finger foods.
Keep your menu simple with kid-friendly foods, especially if you plan to feed children of various ages. Think chicken nuggets, mini pizza bagels and pigs in a blanket. If you want to get a little more adventurous, try your hand at fried macaroni and cheese bites and grilled cheese roll-ups!
  • Sparkling cider.
This bubbly beverage is a must-have for any Noon Year’s Eve extravaganza. Want to further impress your pint-sized party-goers? Serve the jazzed-up juice in plastic champagne flutes!
  • Clock cookies.
Ensure the countdown to the new year is sweet with these delicious confetti clock cookies. Serve them as the clock strikes noon and witness the delight on the kids’ faces when they take a bite and encounter the surprise inside.
  • Printable resolutions.
Encourage kiddos to look back at their challenges and achievements over the past year and make new goals for one ahead. You can even access a printable New Year’s Resolution Template to aid in the process.
