    If you like to get out on the greens, Buckeye is the city for you! It’s home to five popular golf courses, and you can find 16 additional courses within a 20-mile radius. Teeming with saguaro cacti, Ironwood trees and wildlife, Verrado Golf Club features “36 holes of championship golf designed by PGA Tour star and Ryder Cup Captain, Tom Lehman.” Boasting panoramic mountain views and challenges for golfers of all ability levels, Sundance Golf Club is another notable course to consider.
  • Splashing around.

    If you’re looking for a fun way to beat the Arizona heat,the Buckeye Aquatics Center is the place to be! The facility offers high and low diving boards, a 160-foot water slide and a zero-depth beach area with exciting water features. Residents can also sign up for a variety of classes and clinics, ranging from water aerobics to junior lifeguard classes. In addition, the center hosts a number of pool parties throughout the year, including its Memorial Day Splash Party and Christmas in July.
  • Buffalo, bears and bobcats.

    Animal lovers will be pleased to learn that Buckeye is conveniently located near Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium & Safari Park, home to “Arizona’s largest collection of exotic and endangered animals, with more than 600 separate species.” The must-see zoo also features a petting zoo; giraffe, stingray, lory parrot and penguin feedings; rides for the kids and educational shows.
