How to Get This Designer Bathroom Look

Primary bathroom with dark cabinets and light countertops

Feel like your bathroom décor is set in stone—or ceramic tile, or cultured marble? Even if you aren’t buying a new home or planning a major remodel, you may be able to bring new life to your lavatory with the right lighting, wall- and window coverings, accessories and hardware. Take some inspiration from the owner’s bath in our Pearl model home in Irvine California.

Shimmering Romo® Mikado wallcoverings and high-quality orchid reproductions from NDI add natural hints to this spa-like space without the upkeep and daylight demands of living plants. To these, our designers have added Venetian-inspired white mercury glass and polished nickel bottles and fluffy white linens as the area’s main accessories.

It’s important to keep surfaces clear of clutter to preserve a bath’s serene—and clean—first impression. The ample storage in this bathroom’s cherry Kraftmaid® cabinets allows the homeowner to hide away toiletries and other supplies with ease, leaving the Caesarstone® countertops free to shine. Larson-Juhl custom-framed mirrors were created to match the cabinetry and to perfectly fit the wall space above each vanity. Venetian bronze Delta® faucets and showerheads match the towel rings and other hardware.

Pearl.SCA.MBath7675.RET.WThe ceiling and trim, both Sherwin-Williams® Pearly White (SW 7009), pick up the brightness of the room’s ample recessed, vanity and natural lighting. Pale, neutral tile further contributes to this overall luminous quality: Emser® Pietre Del Nord on the floor and shower surround, and an exquisite Daltile® shower mosaic of baroque stone framed by bronze ¾-inch Urban Metal tiles. A simple Duralee® faux silk shade with Kravet® beaded trim completes this relaxing scene.
