Looking for a little home design inspiration? Why not turn to the experts America (and Canada) knows and trusts? Prepare the popcorn, grab your remote control and check out these popular TV shows, offering an insider’s view of the home design process.

Although we can’t recommend extensive home renovations (as seen on many of these shows), these programs will provide tips and tricks for choosing artwork, home accents and furniture, and get you excited about the designer-selected finishes and fixtures offered in Richmond American’s Curated by Home Gallery™ homes. Keep in mind, with a new home, you can love your living space without sacrificing weekends to DIY home renovations!

  • Property Brothers: Forever Home: This show, which stars identical twin brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott, is back for a highly anticipated seventh season! The duo—a real estate agent and a contractor, respectively—helps families buy and renovate properties, incorporating many of today’s most popular home features. Pay particular attention to the way these brilliant brothers inject each homeowner’s distinct style and personality into each and every home design project. Watch on HGTV!
  • Fixer Upper: After taking a short break from their show, Fixer Upper, married couple Chip and Joanna Gaines are back and better than ever in their new series, Fixer Upper: Welcome Home. Both the original series and the spinoff feature passionate designers and best-selling authors Chip and Joanna as they convince homebuyers to buy decrepit houses in promising locations and renovate them to be a homeowner’s dream. Episodes of Fixer Upper can be found on the Magnolia Network and streamed via HBO Max.
  • Love It or List It: This highly entertaining HGTV series examines a common conundrum: Buy a new house or renovate an existing one? Viewers follow along as real estate agent David Visentin shows clients several new homes while interior designer Hilary Farr works overtime retrofitting their existing living space to meet their needs. The homeowners must then decide whether to love their home or list it. There’s typically a lot of indecision involved, but one thing is certain: Hilary’s sophisticated sense of style will give you plenty of ideas for decorating your own abode!
  • Dream Home Makeover: In this Netflix original series, follow along as married couple Shea and Syd McGee (of Studio McGee) help renovate their clients’ dream homes to suit their unique and varying tastes. The McGees undertake a range of projects from small, single rooms to entire, sizable homes while incorporating the client’s budget to create impressive living spaces with thoughtful design details. “Whether our clients have two million dollars, or twenty thousand, I want them to feel that sense of peace when they walk in the door.” Well said, Shea!
