Kitchen design

The true heart of the home

Kitchen with large island grey cabinets, stainless steel appliances

One of the most exciting aspects of choosing to build a new construction home is the ability to personalize the kitchen design. There are few things more costly and inconvenient than ripping out a resale home's kitchen. Luckily, with a new construction home, you won't have to! Here's how we'll break down your selections at your Home Gallery™ appointment.

Cabinetry

Cabinets can alter the overall look and feel of your kitchen design like nothing else. You'll have an opportunity to select your cabinet style and finish. Go for a stained or painted option. And color isn't the only thing you'll need to consider. Do you want Shaker-style doors? Maybe a recessed panel? At the Home Gallery™, you'll be able to hold the options in your hand before you make a decision.

Hold on!

Once the cabinetry is selected, you’re not done. Functionality is another part of the personalization process. Choose from features such as soft-close drawers and rollout organizers.

Countertops

The countertops are the workhorse surface in your kitchen's design. The material you choose will need to be able to withstand all your day-to-day food prep needs. Select from a variety of quartz and natural stone options. Your design consultant will be able to advise you on the maintenance needs of each material.

Aesthetics are also a major factor in countertop selection. Whether you prefer the rich colors of a granite or love the modern look of a quartz, your consultant will walk you through your options and help you select a surface that serves your lifestyle, design style and budget.

When it comes to your kitchen backsplash, homebuyers must choose both a pattern and a material. This is a chance to infuse your personality into your kitchen design and make a big impact.

Select from ceramic, glass and marble, then play around with the pattern. Even classic subway tile can be installed in multiple ways to create interest!

Appliances

The appliances make a huge difference in your kitchen's form and function. We're proud to carry beautiful, state-of-the-art appliances made by GE®. Choose from models offering a variety of food storage solutions. Stainless steel, slate, black and white finishes are available, depending on the region.

Flooring

Between the sink, the dishwasher and daily food preparations, your kitchen is a splash zone. The flooring you choose for the heart of your home shoud be able to withstand the elements. Work with your design consultant to discuss flooring options to match your lifestyle and coordinate the style and color with your cabinetry and other finishes.

Sinks & faucets

Do you want one large basin sink? Do you prefer two separate basins? What about the faucet? Your sink will likely see hundreds of dishes over the years. And unless you're a fast-food aficionado, many pots and pans as well. At the Home Gallery™, we have many sink and faucet options on display so you can evaluate your choices in person before you make the call!

Think we forgot plumbing fixtures?

Think again! We cover that in our section on Flooring Options & More.
