Bay-Area Groundbreaking: a Rousing Success!

Group of city officials holding shovels at groundbreaking event

Last week, we celebrated the groundbreaking of Mulberry, our new community in Rohnert Park, Northern California. The ceremony was attended by over forty of the community’s movers and shakers—Mayor Gina Belforte, city council members, the City Manager, members of the planning commission and the media.

“We are thrilled to see construction begin. Amidst a lot of talk about a housing shortage, I’m proud that in Rohnert Park we’re building houses,” said Council Member Amy Ahanotu.

Over 1,600 homes are planned for Mulberry, part of the highly anticipated University District masterplan. Located in scenic wine country, just south of Santa Rosa and west of Napa, the community offers easy access to Sonoma State University, great year-round performances at the Green Music Center, shops and restaurants. Residents will also enjoy close proximity to the upcoming Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART Train) station, which will allow a streamlined work commute into the Bay Area. Mulberry’s planned amenities include a 10-acre park with a bocce court, playground, covered picnic area, and soccer and baseball fields.

The first phase of Mulberry is scheduled to open this summer. Richmond American’s homes will offer three to five bedrooms and approximately 2,400 to 2,800 square feet. Complimentary design assistance and hundreds of exciting personalization options will be available. Check our website for future pricing and floor plan information as it becomes available.
